Sunday Stroll and Giveaway Winner

This past Sunday my boyfriend and I had a wonderful stroll and lunch downtown. We haven't been in a while because it has been so hot out lately. But, this Sunday the weather was a little cooler, still in the 90's, but cooler. It was really nice to go out and spend some alone time together, especially on a Sunday.

Also, I want to announce the winner of my giveaway! Congratulations to Alicia from Fashion By Alicia! I will be emailing you soon.

My Interview With Lindsay of Lindsay Loves It All

Hey ladies! I am so happy that I have gotten back on track with interviewing my favorite bloggers. I know I took some time off from doing so, but lately I have been back in the swing of things. Anyway, the latest blogger that I have interviewed is Lindsay from Lindsay Loves It All. Her blog is so fabulous. She has a great mixture of everything in her blog and the fact that she travels due to her husband's job and still does what she loves is simply amazing! Her style is wonderful! Her looks always look so put together and posts never disappoint me. I hope you all check out her blog and enjoy it as much as I do!

Thank you Lindsay for doing this interview with me!

  1. What inspired you to start your blog? I was reading so many blogs that inspired me, that I decided I wanted to start my own in hopes that I would inspire others. Plus, with my husband's job, I travel so much, and I wanted to keep a little online "journal" of the places I went and things I saw/ate/bought.

  1. How long have you been blogging? I've been blogging for a little over a year.

  1. How did you come up with the name of your blog? Lindsay Loves It All came about because I wanted to focus on more than just fashion. I wanted to include my love of travel, food, cooking, and good wine. If I found a restaurant or recipe that I loved, I wanted to be able to share it with my readers without people thinking, "Wow, that's random." I came up with a blog name that covered it all!

  1. How would you consider your style to be? Random! I love it all. Depending on the article of clothing or mood I'm in, I like it all - classic, trendy, preppy, hipster, glam, and vintage. I buy pieces from any store or place that catches my eye, and I feel my style is the same way. Whatever catches my eye - and flatters my body type - is what I am drawn to. My style motto is "I'd rather be stared at than ignored," so I always try to take any outfit and think "What would make this outfit more interesting?"

  1. What is your most cherished item of clothing or accessory? My most cherished accessory is my wedding ring. My husband picked it out all by himself, and it's stunning, if I do say so myself! I've never seen one like it, and that makes me happy because I always like to be different. A close second would be my black satin Christian Louboutin shoes that I wore for my wedding. That was my first BIG purchase, so I take great care of them :) Plus I will always remember the first time I wore them was on the most special day of my life!

  1. Who is your favorite fashion designer? It's hard to pick a favorite because I like different things about different designers clothing. However, if I had to pick, I would say Missoni. I have several Missoni dresses, and the cut of their dresses always look beautiful on a woman's body. Plus, their colors and patterns are unmistakable and gorgeous! Their clothing is timeless, and I love adding pieces like that into my wardrobe.

  1. Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo? LOUBOUTIN!! Without a doubt, I think they are the classiest shoe out there.

  1. The LBD, necessity or overrated? Ohhh good question! I know many will disagree with me, but I think it's a little overrated. Don't get me wrong… I think every woman should have one in their closet that is flattering to their body type, but I am more drawn to a dress that makes me stand out. I know at any given event, most women will wear black dresses. Because of that, I tend to choose a colored or patterned dress - or, one with a unique shape to it. Who says you can't have a "little cream dress" or "little emerald green dress" or "a little Pucci or Missoni inspired dress?" The options are endless if you think outside the box!

  1. Would you ever consider a career in fashion? Of course, if the right opportunity came along! I would love to collaborate on a clothing or jewelry line. Any takers?

  1. Any advice to fellow bloggers? My dad told me 3 things when I first started my blog, and he turned out to be so right:

1. Always be yourself and write about the things you know about and LOVE. People come to your blog to see what you write about , wear, and do…not to see a re-creation of other people's blogs & style.

2. Take good pictures, making sure people can see what you are trying to capture.

3. Don't go out and buy things or do things because you think it's what people want to be seeing on your blog. I know there are certain "hot" places to go and certain "hot ticket" fashion items that everyone seems to have, but if it doesn't fit into your personal style or budget, then don't do/buy it! Be yourself, and blog about unique and interesting things that will make your blog stand out!

My Interview With Bessie of Bravoe Runway

One of new favorite blogs is Bravoe Runway. I discovered this blog a few months ago and I have been hooked. This blog has turned into my go to for lots of my fashion questions. Bessie, the writer of Bravoe Runway has such amazing style and her blog posts never disappoint me. I hope you all check out the interview I did with her and check out her blog!

1) What inspired you to start blogging?

I have always been "that friend," you ask all your fashion related questions to or want take on a shopping spree. Questions like do these shoes go with the outfit? Am I getting a good deal on this? What is hot this season? Can you give me ideas on how else to wear this skirt? Every time I gave them an answer, I'd get the concluding sentence, "Bessie you HAVE to do something to share your fashion ideas with others," so I decided to start my blog, Bravoe Runway!

2) How did you come up with the name Bravoe Runway?

Bravoe rhymes with Nouveau which means new in French. For many people who visit Bravoe Runway they’re picking up new brands, fashion terminology, ideas, and trends for the first time. I say “Bravo” to them for trying something “Nouveau!” When you combine the two words…you get “Bravoe.” I added Runway because in fashion, that’s where it all begins!

3) How long have you been blogging?

I started my blog on April 1, 2011 slightly under 5 months!

4) How would you describe your style?

I would say my style is classic with a modern twist. I like to keep things simple and without a lot of fuss!

5) What would you say is a woman’s most needed accessory?

A great handbag! A handbag is not just an accessory, but it is also a statement that compliments and completes your outfit! A poorly selected handbag can ruin an outfit very quickly! It doesn't need to be expensive, or from a high-end designer, but it needs to be be well constructed with good quality materials!

6) What is your most cherished piece of clothing or accessory?

My most cherished accessory are my Swarovski Encrusted Chanel Sunglasses. I feel glamorous when I wear them whether I have make-up on and I am going somewhere or I have zero make-up on and I am going to run errands.

7) Jimmy Choo or Christian Louboutin?

Christian Louboutin for sure! I own two pairs, red and black!

8) What is your favorite trend at the moment?

My favorite trend at the moment is Bohemian Chic and it can be as Glam as you make of it!

9) Have you ever had or would you ever consider a career in fashion?

I certainly have! Prior to blogging I considered working retail on the weekends to get first hand fashion experience, but decided working full time and blogging would keep me busy enough, and a weekend job would be too much. So now, I think a stylist or a wardrobe consultant would be a fun job! Could you see me going to someone's closet and putting outfits together with what is already there?

10) Any advice to fellow bloggers?

When you first start, focus on writing good content. Make sure this is really what you want to do and this is something you can keep up on a regular basis before you start promoting it to others! For seasoned bloggers, get your inspiration from your fans by giving them what they want to see! They tell you this through their comments, yet still reflect your own personal style, and create your post from there! It's easier said then done so take it one post at a time!

Healthy Snack Attack

This post is different then what I usually post, but I wanted to share this with you all. For the past couple of weeks I have been reducing my sugar intake and trying to be more disciplined in my eating. My lunch and dinner portions have been reduced and junk food has been cut out. I went to Trader Joe's (Love it!) and picked up some healthy snacks and absolutely love them. Have any of you tried any of these snacks?

So much tastier than Cheetos!

Surprisingly very good.

So yummy!

This is a very acquired taste.

Flowy Skirts in D.C.

This past weekend I was in Washington D.C. and had the most wonderful time. It was a fun time of visiting with family, shopping, dinners, and sight seeing. I had a great time Saturday night eating dinner with great friends. I decided to finally wear this flowy skirt from Express that I purchased last fall. I dont know why it took me this long to wear it, but finally did and felt wonderful in it. Such a great skirt for dinner in D.C.
